JFDP IN KYRGYZSTANThe Junior Faculty Development Program (JFDP) has brought five delegations from Kyrgyzstan since the academic year 2000-2001 through 2004-2005, for a total of twenty JFDP Fellows. These Fellows are university faculty representing six different locations of Kyrgyzstan. During their JFDP Fellowships they studied at universities across the United States. Their studies span the breadth of humanities, social sciences and professional disciplines, including American Studies, Arts Management, Business Administration, Education, Environmental Studies, History, International Affairs, Journalism, Law, Linguistics, Literature, Political Science, Public Administration, and Public Policy. At present, the majority of Kyrgyzstan's JFDP Alumni work at leading universities in both the capital city of Bishkek as well as in outer lying regions of the country. They continue to apply their knowledge gained during their JFDP Fellowships to engage their students in learning. As of 2004, JFDP is celebrating its ten-year anniversary since the first delegation arrived from Russia. On behalf of all JFDP alumni in Kyrgyzstan, we congratulate the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State, CIES and American Councils staff, and JFDP Alumni from all over the world on this occasion. We wish for the JFDP to continue to prosper. | |||||||||
