Placement Process
Approved U.S. institutions of higher education will be invited to participate in the placement process. During the placement process, institutions review JFDP Fellows' academic experiences and professional backgrounds, and request to host specific Fellows. American Councils makes matches based on academic programs, university resources, and the Fellows' goals and interests. The submission of a host application does not entail a formal obligation to host Fellows. Likewise there is no guarantee that institutions which are approved to host JFDP Fellows in the first stage will actually receive Fellows during the placement stage. A placement depends on finding a suitable match between a Fellow's academic interests and the academic resources available at an institution.
