about the program structure
Hello!
Just wanted to know about program structure in Washington, will we have only conference or sessions during the 2 day period, or are there any possibilities arranged to see Washington?

Hello Umar,
You will have a full schedule of sessions which all Fellows are required to attend. However, it will be a little more relaxed than the busy orientation schedule you experienced in Kansas. In the past, we've always included some time to see the amazing sites around D.C. It is likely we'll plan a tour/ free time in the city for this year's conference as well.

I cannot believe that we have already came to the final step of our program. I have some questions and don't know where to post them. Anyway two of them I am posting here.
1. Is it possible to extend ours ID-s in host universities in order to have free access to educational and scientific resources? Why it is important, exactly for me, because in my university we have no such kind network and we have lack of E-resources.
2. I have been in US since December. Do I need to fill out the tax forms?

Hi Narine,
1. It's an excellent idea to try to extend your university ID cards in order to have access to academic resources! However, only your university can allow this. JFDP does not have any influence on this issue. I recommend discussing this issue with your advisor and the student services office.
2. All Fellows need to fill out tax forms. Your tax form that is due this year, will include information from your arrival in December (any money you received during the month of December as well as your January stipend, which was processed in 2009). You will also be filling out a tax form next year for financial transactions from January 2010 to May 2010. Please be sure to have taxes filed by the June 15th deadline.
