But, what are the advantages for US universities to connect with small universities in developing countries?

I attended the special training program for teachers, and the trainer agreed to deliver the similar trainings at my home university. Since our university has limited financial resources I would like to know how this problem could be settled or where could be found additional funds for the fulfillment of such activities.
